La Syrah Francky
This wine label design is not an original creation in the traditional sense.
Rather, it is a tribute - an assemblage of inspirations and references, deeply personal and meaningful.
The story
In September 2020, my father passed away suddenly. To honor his memory, my mother and their friends decided to produce a small batch of wine - something that would bring people together around what he loved most. What started as a simple tribute turned into a full-fledged wine production.
The design
For the label, I needed to strike a balance: a classic and accessible aesthetic and something that resonated with both my father’s and his friends’ tastes. I based the design on one of his favorite wine labels. My mother was drawn to an illustration I had created after a trip to New York, inspired by abstract art and the jazzy atmosphere, so we decided to incorporate it into it, bringing a vibrant, colorful energy to the design.
The adventure
This project was more challenging than working with a traditional client. I couldn't simply follow my usual creative process or impose my vision. Instead, I had to navigate emotions, memories, and expectations to craft something that truly felt like him.
